Overview
An AD Code (Authorised Dealer Code) is a 14-digit unique identification number issued by a bank to exporters and importers. It is a mandatory requirement for conducting any export or import transactions involving foreign currency.
The primary purpose of the AD Code is to ensure that all foreign currency transactions are legitimate, traceable, and comply with government and RBI regulations. It helps authorities monitor international trade activities and prevent illegal or fraudulent transactions.
Benefits of AD Code Registration
1. Ease of Foreign Currency Payments
The AD Code authenticates your transactions, ensuring smoother foreign currency transfers. This reduces delays and prevents payment disputes.
2. Faster Customs Clearance
Your AD Code links your shipments with customs systems, allowing faster clearance and reducing demurrage or warehousing costs.
3. Access to Government Incentives
Having an AD Code establishes you as a legitimate exporter or importer, making you eligible for government benefits and export promotion schemes.
4. Reduced Risk of Penalties
Proper registration ensures compliance with FEMA and customs rules, helping you avoid heavy fines or shipment delays.
